Every purchase from Peter Linden is accompanied by detailed instructions on how to best protect and maintain your piece. Because of the exchange guarantee that we offer it is as much in our interest as the customers' to ensure that the rug will be looked after properly.

These are a few basic points to remember:

• Always use an underlay when placing rugs on hard floors. Peter Linden supplies Multigrip rubber underlay free with all purchases. For rugs on fitted carpet where there is a tendency to "creep" we supply Stabitex non-slip underlay.
• Turn the rug around once or twice a year. This will prevent spot wear in exposed areas; it will also help prevent spot fading in rugs exposed to strong light.
• Keep the rug clean. Washing is a delicate process that should be left to a specialist.A gentle pile clean with mild carpet shampoo can be done in the home. Never soak the rug in water without consultation.
• Keep your rugs free of loose dirt and grease by brushing regularly with the pile. Vaccuum cleaning is safe, provided caution is observed around fringes and ends. Gentle - never hard - beating once a year is also recommended.
• Protect your rugs from moth damage during the summer. Moth damage is best avoided by using mothballs and by daily traffic and regular cleaning. Never store rugs in damp basements or attics.
• Avoid putting rugs on damp floors or hanging on damp walls. Peter Linden will be glad to advise you further on any matters of this kind.
