THE NEW PETER LINDEN GALLERY is now open.

Our new premises in two storeys has been created by dividing the building in two sections with a new entrance from the side lane. From this small, but cosy and intimate, gallery we will continue to specialise in fine Antique pieces of the highest quality. For as long as they continue to be woven we will also stock naturally dyed rugs from the DOBAG project in Turkey, plus a small number of newly made top quality pieces from various locations in Iran.

In future we will only deal with original and unique pieces woven to the highest standards, in the best possible condition. Mass produced fashion driven rugs will be carefully avoided as they neither hold their value nor last the time you have come to expect from the old, properly woven pieces.

Our services such as cleaning/restoration/valuation remain as before.

A new brokering service will be available to help you source any piece of reasonable importance in our field.

We intend to keep a more active website that will include the majority of stock pieces rather than just a sample selection. Keep an eye on the site in future as we will try to put most new acquisitions on the site as we find them.

DOBAG ARRIVALS! Another shipment of 10 DOBAGs we ordered almost a year ago has now arrived. They are all on the Current Stock listing under DOBAGs and Runners, the sizes varying from 4' x 3' up to 8'2 x 5'2". One very striking runner is almost 14' long. We now know that the only way to obtain any DOBAGs at all is by special order with up to a year for delivery. Still all the new arrivals are totally original, in fact quite excellent pieces, woven completely freestyle with all the quirkiness and spontaneity you expect from DOBAGs. Illustrated is Lot No 8509, a beautiful "double Lotus" rug from Koru, woven by Hatice Karakas.

NEW ARRIVALS ANNOUNCEMENT Despite the global shortange of top quality Antique rugs in superb condition at affordable price levels, we continue to find superb examples on the international markets. There are a number of new entries on the Current Stock listing under "Antique Rugs" - the picture shows a detail of a simply fantastic late 19th C Shekarlu Quashq'ai rug from SW Persia, 8'9"x6'2", in full pile with glorious design and colour. The piece contains the whole repertoire of important symbolism, including the lion which symbolises power in Persian art history.
